Open-channel SSD provides host-based control to NAND flash drives that most Flash Translation Layer (FTL) & Garbage Collection (GC) tasks are implemented at system side. LITE-ON SSDs are capable of both traditional Logical Block Addressing (LBA) and Open-channel modes.
